Enjoy a relaxing all day excursion to Saona Island also known as Bounty Island! We begin at your hotel in the morning where you will be picked up in a comfortable, air conditioned bus by a certified tour guide. After enjoying the panoramic ride through the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, driving through the city of Higuey, we arive at Bayahibe - a picturesque fishing village. Here, we will board the speedboats and travel along the National Park.
Before arriving at Saona Island we stop for a quick swim in the natural swimming pool where there are lots of beautiful star fish, and where the water is crystal clear. After our refreshing swim, we jump back on the boats and head for Saona where hours of fun and relaxation await. Learn how to dance the typical Dominican dance (Merengue), get a relaxing massage, go for a swim in the Caribbean ocean, play a game of beach volleyball or just relax under the palm trees with a cool drink and a good book. Saona has a little something for everyone.
After about an hour on the island a gorgeous Dominican lunch buffet is served including rice, chicken, fish, salad, pasta, bread, fruits, etc. What better way to enjoy a good home cooked meal than with your feet in the sand and the beautiful ocean right next to you.
Around 3:00 p.m. we get ready to leave the island. We head back to Bayahibe on the catamaran where drinks are served, music is playing and the staff is ready to entertain you. On the way back to the hotel we will make a quick stop for some shopping at a souvenir shop where you will find great bargains on everything from jewellery, cigars to rum, coffee and Dominican arts and crafts.
What to bring: Camera, bathing suit, sun lotion, towel, and money for souvenirs. Lunch and beverages (water, soft drinks, beer and rum) are included.
